Funfairs

Brand new attraction at Thetford

Funfair

Larry Gray & Sons visit Thetford three times each season, with the first visit usually taking place over the last weekend of March. Due to this clashing with Easter this year the fair was postponed by three weeks. As has been widely reported in this paper, the dreadful weather conditions over the Easter period meant that even when the later date came around, the ground was far too soft to even consider getting the loads on.

Lee Harwood’s account is on page 7.

Circus

Circus Zyair: infectious energy and thrills

Circus

Circus Zyair started their 2018 tour with a sell out run at the Hop Farm in Kent, before heading north to Merry Hill. For the first part of the tour the show used its familiar Big Top, a brand new larger Big Top made in Italy by Scola being first built up in Hastings during late April.

Andy Payne’s review is on page 24.

Pecorama escapes the storms

Anyone who has an interest in model railways will no doubt have heard of Peco, one of the principal manufacturers of parts and rolling stock, which has its UK headquarters in the small Devon town of Beer. Along with the distribution centre there are cliff side gardens with a ride on a miniature railway, and an exhibition showing how a model railway can be fitted into nearly any space. The attraction goes by the name of Pecorama.

Charlie Elston’s report is on page 31.
